You discount the other USES of home-defense, ranch/hunting sidearm, and even competition shooting such as 3-gun (which might happen on a range, but is decidedly not "plinking.") You bet, but I bet it's not in the top 10 of most commonly carried weapons, which goes back to my comment that it's generally used as a range gun by the majority of owners. I bought the spring directly from Beretta, and swapped it out myself. My point was that the 92fs or M9 or whatever variant you get isn't one of the most common CC weapons out there. I heard about replacing the original hammer spring in the 92FS with the spring that Beretta puts in the 92D, that's the double-action only version of the Beretta 92 series.
Great firearms, though not something most folks are going to do much with outside of plinking at the range.
